CBUNA knows that you care how information about you is used and shared, and we appreciate that you trust us to do so carefully and sensibly. CBUNA has developed this statement on privacy to help CBUNA website users understand how any personal information we collect is used.
CBUNA shares its database with SUNA, but access to data related to the certification process and associated transactions is limited to staff responsible for CBUNA. In all cases, transactional data associated with CBUNA certification and products is wholly owned by CBUNA, and ownership of contact information is only shared when the individual has a relationship with both parties; and only to the extent to which that information applies to said relationship. Only through direct agreement of both parties shall the data belonging solely to one be shared with the other, and without any transfer of ownership or entitlement outside of a single-use event; such as marketing certification to association members, or marketing educational opportunities to certificants. In all cases, the individual may remove her/himself from any subsequent such events.

What information does CBUNA collect from you?
CBUNA collects the email addresses, mailing addresses, phone numbers and other contact information of those who communicate with us via email, mail and/or phone. Application information for certification such as partial social security number, RN license, and employer is considered confidential and is not shared with any outside party. It is used only by CBUNA, the testing agency, C-NET, and the computer company, PSI, for certification processing purposes. If you are not a CBUNA certificant, do not wish to receive such contact, and would like to be removed from our database, please let us know by calling or writing us at the above contact information. If you are certified through CBUNA, we need to maintain your postal information, and email address in order to fulfill our obligation to you as an CBUNA certificant and therefore must keep your information in our database for 6 years.
We share the information with our affiliated organization, SUNA, to help them contact CBUNA applicants and certificants for marketing purposes. All individuals with a CBUNA record, can choose to opt-out of any communications at any time by accessing their record or contacting CBUNA. We do not sell your information to third parties.
CBUNA uses the information collected from website visitors to market CBUNA products and services.
With whom do we share your information?
CBUNA certificants may receive email from us or SUNA with information regarding new products and services or upcoming events. We do not make email addresses available to any third-party sites, companies, or organizations.
If you supply us with your postal address, CBUNA certificants may receive periodic mailings from us or SUNA with information on new products and services, upcoming events, promotional materials and membership information. If you are not a CBUNA certificant, do not wish to receive such mailings, and would like to be removed from our database, please let us know by calling or writing us at the above contact information. If you are a CBUNA certificant, we need to maintain your postal information in order to fulfill our obligation to you as a certificant and therefore will keep your information in our database until your certification expires.
CBUNA does not make postal addresses available to any third-party sites, companies or organizations.
CBUNA certificants may receive telephone contact from us with information regarding new products and services, upcoming events, or to obtain your input on CBUNA matters. If you are not a CBUNA certificant, do not wish to receive phone calls, and would like to be removed from our database, please let us know by calling or writing us at the above contact information. If you are a CBUNA certificant we need to maintain your telephone information in order to fulfill our obligation to you as a certificant and are therefore will keep your information in our database until your certification expires.
We do not make phone information available to any third-party sites, companies, or organizations.
How can you update or correct your information?
Upon request we can provide site visitors with access to information that we maintain on them. This includes unique identifier information (e.g., customer number or password), transaction information (e.g., dates on which customers made purchases, amounts, and types of purchases), and contact information (e.g., name, address, phone number).
